Bassman 50 2x15 Speaker

Sign in to disble this ad
Guy comes over to buy my amp & cabinet that i had listed on cl. Upon plugging in to make sure everything works, we notice that one of the speakers is making a buzzing noise - like i am overdriving it, but at low volume.

Is the speaker blown? Can i get it repaired? What is a suitable replacement?

Thanks for your input.

If you can gently push on the cone, see if it make a scraping sound. If it does, then the voice coil is out of round and needs replaced.

I pushed on the cone and it does make a noise that i would t characterize as scraping but rather rubbing. At any rate the other one makes no noise at all so any way you slice it - noise is bad.

I uploaded the pic of the back with some numbers that might aid in the identification of the speaker so that i might get service or obtain a replacement. The magnet is square.

Please help.

Thanks.
