Bassman 50 with master volume?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

I was looking around on ebay at Bassman 50 s and found one with a master volume. Is that rare? A mod? Or a function that they added near the end?

Man all these different bassman models and revisions are hard to keep up with.

IIRC the last ones did have a factory master volume in them.

Probably a mod. There's no reference to a master volume 50 here:

just because the ampwares site doesn't mention one it doesn't mean that they didn't exist.
the very last ones did have a master volume, but they are pretty rare. over the years, i've serviced several of them them that had one
the Bassman 70 that shortly came after it also had a master volume.

read the last paragraph on page 78:

Actually the Bassman 70, the 100, and the 135 were concurrent with the 50 after about 1975 or so, give or take a year or so. They stopped all Bassmans of that configuration simultaneously, about 1980-ish. Never stopped the 50 in favor of the others, although the 70 was short-lived.
