There was a post here not too long ago that they went out of business. Their website says so. Or at least used to say so when it was still up. Google turns up a cached comment from the page: "24 Sep 2010 ... I hereby wish to announce that after 10 years in the industry, Basson Sound has stopped manufacturing and closed its doors for good. "

They went the way of the Hummer, for the same reason. Too big, too heavy and way too inefficient.

Yea. Theres something about a 10,000 pound 810 that dosent seem worth it. Just sold something to a guy on craigslist who had 2 of them. He said he was positive he could drop it off the top of his house, plug in, and play like nothing had happened. Durability is good, but you only get one spine.

Oh yeah? I really wanted one, so I could do a combo of sounds. Being able to playa rock style tone, then move to a reggae-style dub, to a hip-hop "808"-type sound. Guess I gotta go biamp now.

There's no reason to expect that the Basson would do that any better than any other 8x10.

Agreed. From what I have learned here, and continually learn on TB....I agree.
