* If you've owned/heard one or more these cabs, or if you're a fan of any of them... go ahead and pick your "favorite." I love 'em all - it's kind of like picking your favorite "Charlie's Angel" or something, but hey - what are polls for anyway?

I'd probably vote for the 610. Improving on the venerable fridge is no small feat. |

But as far as angels go, Jaclyn Smith hands down. |

| | | | Mmm... I don't know which to vote for. I've never heard any of them, but I've been gasing for one for... ever. I'm aiming more for the 2x15 or 4x12 though. Which to choose... |

I own the 215 and the 610 and honestly they are two equally fabulous sounding cabs. |

Used to have a 610 & yes it's very hard to beat. But for the styles I play, the NV215 was the one I kept outta the two.
They're all superb cabs-I've owned both the above, but have heard the 412 & really, they're all great in slightly different ways.
215 for me tho

Although if I had never heard a 215 I would have been happy with the 610 forever. Don't know how Jim Bergantino does it. |

The fact that the NV215 has an attenuator for the 6" mid freq driver is just the icing on the cake! Deep, punchy, tight AND Solid! Only down side, for me @ least, is that I've stuffed my back, & even this cab, which is easy to move about, isn't doing me any good-dammit! :-(
Am praying I don't have to part with it! Lots of exercise & physio!

Just got back from a gig with it- I feel like I play better with it. I've only played the NV215/412 in stores but I gotta say I love the way the 610 sounds more than the others. I'm playing technically demanding metal music with it and it handles it with aplomb. |

| I always liked Jaclyn's hair better than Farrah's.
*Can't find pics to prove my point right now though.... |

215 for me tho | Yeah I hear ya Rod, I've never even gigged any other NV's besides my old 610. Someday I'd like to score one of the other models in tolex instead of funky old rat-fur like mine.
I'm guessing they're all freakin awesome, just in slightly different ways... (yeah, kinda like the charlie's angle chicks, although I dig blonds so I'da choose Farrah back in the day )

If I had to do it again, i'd have probably gone with the 215, just because I prefer 15's, but it was a spur of the moment decision. I couldn't decide which to choose between the two, so I asked the fellow over the phone at Bass Emporium(where I ordered it) which he prefered, and he said the NV425. That was good enough for me. I really have no regrets, though I would love to add the 215.... which I don't ever see happening or needing.

Really can't say I prefer one over the other but I kept the 215 because it is discontinued and figured I could grab another 610 someday as it is still in production. They do sound different but have grabbed either or for gigs and can't say I was disappointed.
Both great cabs and either will do the job. Sold the 610 to fund an AE212.
Now the NV215 just sits in the practice room. It may be in the classifieds soon, who knows. |
