Been here before but now change of circs - Bergantino choices - One cab powerhouse!

I have the following amps (luckily) - Orange AD200b Mk3, TC RH450, MB LM3.

They are going nowhere; these amps represent searching for my tone for the past few years and they all offer something different.

I currently have a fair few cabs, but heck whats one more ay?!

I would like a one cab solution powerhouse, and I think Berg is the way to go.

Tonal goals - Thick meaty mids, controlled low end, mainly 4 string Fender/Musicmans (although the occasional 5), spectrum from flats/rounds, 50% pick 50% fingers, nice 'sweet' high end without too much bite, full response that supports the band but also lets me cut through. I guess vintage meets a little bit of modern.

Im thinking:

HS410 (had one of these before but I should have given it more of a chance I think, I have nicer basses now)

AE212 (probably a little too modern for me depsite the fact I bet it kills! Also not sure about the lack of casters)

HT112ER/EX112ER (Ok, its not a one cab solution, but the smoothness/sheer low end is very attractive)

Im leaning towards the HS410...

Ideas? I know Ken and Tom B probably know exactly what is right for me.

Cheers

I believe these cabs were designed for the player who wants a more old school tone/feel as opposed to all the neo traits .

If you think Ken J and Tom B is gonna help, I'd say you are exactly right.....
great contributors

.....for my two little 2c worth.......unless you are after something larger than a 4x10, I would audition the HS410 vs the AE410 vs the AE212............
the ER stack is great for modularity, and they are great..and smooth...........but for me, aside from modularity, I would easily pick the AE410 over the ER stack........I would need to do a shootout of the HS410 vs AE410 vs the AE212 myself to be any further help.......
now the ER is really something......but for rich tone, top to bottom, even, detailed, punchy, bass, the AE410 is great........esp for a moderately light cab
yes it can be aggressive, but with a touch of cut in the upper mids, this cab really sounds wonderful.....
...of course YMMV

I may get flogged for this one, but just my 2c

Sounds like a Berg NV 412 would do!

Musicman, I think your a perfect candidate for any of the Berg NV-series cabs.

Tube Head
Thick mid, controlled low
sweet high without too much bite
Bergantino

this is too easy
yeah "new vintage" - NV
makes sense to me

the only question remains is which NV...

doubt you would ever go wrong with a Berg cab...but the NV, HS, AE are different flavors...taste them all if you can......and decide which one tickles your ears......

If it was me, and with your tonal goals I would be looking at the NV 610 or NV412. I have not tried the 412, but speaking as someone who owns an NV 610 and an NV215 I would be seeking out a second hand NV215 - it sounds great with my SVT and with my Markbass and it provides that flatter response and sweet top that you seem to be aiming for.
