Behringer 4x10=1200watts=???

Sign in to disble this ad
not my dream cab by any stretch of the imagination, but there is a used one to be had at a pawn shop for about 200 cash(cash talks and all that)

how hard has anyone driven one of these is my question

looking at the ohms rating versus my head i can prolly do 700-750 watts bridged(stereo head/500 per side@ 4ohm/bridged=1000@2ohm) at the cabs given ohm rating i won't create 1000 watts but close enough love that headroom

just a possible stopgap deal for me,i'm looking for an 8x10 or a 2x15 or 2,4x10 cabs(with is what i really want)AKA bored with what i have and i'm planning on applying for jobs not nec. close by but in the state,,so,,a 4x10 that could handle my head MIGHT be doable short term

That Behringer Cab would explode at 1200 watts...750 watts will blow those speakers.

I have had enough bad experiences with Behringer - I had a mixer from them and my buddy had some of their other gear. All of the items stopped functioning correctly from normal use. Cheap junk. I suggest saving your money for something better in the used world.

I can think of 100 cabs you could get for $200 used that would blow that cab in the dirt. That cab would be lucky to handle 400w real world.

well

Make sure your enemies are sitting in the front row, then stand to the side and hit the low B real hard.

I run 1000 every week to my BA410 cab that I've had for 6 years, never had a problem. Good clean sound, unless you're just trying to blow something up. Know your gear, know your limits, and know when to add on.

A thousand watts?????What amp?How high is it turned up???

I triple dog dare you to turn your 1000 watt amp up to ten feeding that cab....TRIPLE DOG DARE!

To the OP...You can get a used Carvin 4x10 for well under 200.00 on CL all day long.

blow that cab in the dirt'=heck yeah!

like i stated; might need to go `small' but keep my head,i can run one side, she'd be about 350ish,,,anyway yes i've seen B' cabs with blown speaks on craigs list many times.

i just love my head it's not going, been driving a PV black widow 15 on one side and a 4x10 the other(bi-amped)=ghetto stack deal,,,the 4x10 i have looks great and the cab is built well but i can(after studying preferred bass cab specs) see why i can only drive it so hard before she pharts,,,the BW actually handles morebut,,is not an ultimate deal eitheras it's actually a gutted combo amp cabblahblah

i'm all about the mids,,my EQ is nearly flatwith the shelving knobs doing a lot of my tonemoreblahblah,i feel the magic is there in the middleish ground,i've tried to simplify my EQ'ing between my J and my P so i can quickly make changes to suit the 2 dif. instruments,,anyway, also sorry for bad spelling on initial post wife was talking to me(more blahblah,,ok thanks all i'll let that Behringer lay where she is or='just thinkin'

thanks again

I used the combo version of this 4x10 for years and gigged with it regularly. I used it at band practice twice a week for about 3 years and played hundreds of shows with it.

Pros:

It's very deep, does a great job of moving air. The lows are felt.

Power. I never pushed it to the full 1200 watts, but with my preamp and loud volumes, I know for a fact that I ran it in the 900 watt range continuously for hours on end. I never once had to replace a speaker. The cab sounds better with time. I don't know why the Bugera speakers get such a bad rap, they're relatively decent.

Price. You would be hard pressed to find comparable wattage, tone, and frequency handling in something less expensive.

Cons:

Weight. It is ridiculously heavy and awkward to move. The combo was 150 pounds. I loaded in and out of a small, 4 door Toyota Camry's backseat 3 times a week for years. My back does not miss this amp, and I'm still in my early twenties. The wheels on it suck, get casters.

Tone. You get what you pay for. Without an expensive bass and a decent head, it has a dull sound about it. The tweeter kinda sucks and the highs can be harsh, and come across as "clicky". If you dial in too much mids, it sounds farty.

Overall:

A good cabinet for the price. Not for the weak or tone-obsessed. Definitely for the musician on a budget who likes a lot of low end and is willing to sacrifice treble.

No you didn't. It is impossible to put that much power into ANY 410, let alone a Behringer.

I hear a spec like that 1200W and I hear Jabba the Hutt laughing.

NO WAY that thing will take 1,000 watts.
But....I owned one and liked it. It sounded very good.
It was just heavy as hell, and I hated lugging it around.
I'd be OK with one today to leave at a rehearsal location to avoid dragging even my Markbass cabs. I love to travel light these days.
But, as others have posted, you can do a lot better all day long on CL or here on the classys.
Good luck!

its not really about thermal power handling is it anyways, xmax is what counts and i reckon you'd have cones shooting into the crowd with that at high volume....

My rig is in my sig line, and yes, I have run my rig at max, outdoor and loved the tone, and my cab didn't complain a bit, and I play a five string and use the B frequently, and again haven't been let down. Don't dis a product based on the name if you've never used one. Brand snobs are only good for making noise. Sometimes saving money on a less expensive product can surprise you, and sometimes you get burned. In this case, it has paid off for me, and others as well.

Why is it so impossible to put that much power into a 4x10? Do you think they just made up that 1200 watts peak figure for kicks?

I find it ironic that you're such an expert on this cab. Have you ever even used it?

Is it the BA410 or the BB410? The aluminum cones in the BA cabs are notorious for ripping apart at the surround boundary. Apparently Bugera spec'd more XMAX than the cone's rigidity will allow. The BB (paper cones) are okay for deep bass, but I agree with previous posters that the horn is grating. There is no attenuator, it's either on or off.

I bought a new BB410 on clearance from Guitar Center for $200. The 1/4" jack on the back broke within a few days. I used it for a month or so and then got rid of it.
