As the writing on the wall is indicating to me, the Bass V-AMP Pro may soon be extinct after a 10-year production run.
With this said, I am now going to make my predictions for the new year: - Behringer will release Bass V-AMP 2.0
- It will not be rack mountable, but instead will resemble a floor-based stomp box like Zoom and Line 6's current offerings
- It will feature USB connectivity and allow for easy edit/share/record
... and in no way will I receive a complimentary unit for my years of service in the original V-AMP Squad
Happy New Year!

Understandable, it is. The B3 is actually CURRENT. |

Behringer will release the Bass V-amp 2 in both pod and rack formfactor.
Because everyone else is doing red colored bass gear the new Bass V-Amp shall be glossy white with blue leds on the dials, the ac adapter will be redesigned on the pod to be smaller and have a sturdier plug, a XLR DI out will be added to the pod unit, the tuner will be improved, USB interface for both units, footswitch support for the rack unit, updatable firmware instead of replacing a rom chip.
Last but not least, CharlieC will be invited by Behringer to write the user manual and will have a signature CharlieC amp preset on the new unit and everyone on the V-amp squad will receive a free Bass V-amp 2
Happy 2013

I'd like to meet him to "geek gab" about gear and tone sometime.
He's the kind of user that manufacturers have wet dreams about.
He has kept this thread together and moving for years and provided real, legitimate useful information on use of the Bass V-amp Pro. |

The V-Amp is one of the few things that has really fully fulfilled and satisfied a need I had.
... and I am a seriously picky bastard when it comes to tone. |

Gonna use it for home for now, yhen maybe its off to buy a crown and incorporate it in. For now ill stick with the carvin redline1000, tech 21vt, and the various pedals ive bought.

Quote:
On the V-AMP and V-AMPIRE series processors and amps, there can be a noticeable 'pause' when changing between presets if the presets you are changing between use different 'amp' and 'cab' models. This occurs because the DSP processor is loading the new modeling algorithm for the different amp and cab models, and the unit cannot pass audio until the new amp/cab algorithms are finished loading. For 'onstage' live use where you are going to be switching during a song without interruption, the workaround for this is to edit your presets so that the presets you are going to use in the same song use the same amp and cab models (you can still have different 'gain' and 'volume' settings to control the amount of drive/distortion) - or use presets that already use the same amp and cab models. Putting presets that you are going to be switching between into adjacent-numbered preset locations (for example put patches that are going to be used in the same song in the A, B, C, D, E slots of the same 'bank') may also help reduce the 'switching time' between presets.
If the pause between presets is an issue, you can attempt the following things to alleviate/reduce the pause:
-use the same cabinet simulation on all presets in question and/or
-use the same amp sim on all presets in question and/or
-save presets as sequentially as possible: e.g. if presets are currently stored to 1A, 4A, 10A... try storing to 1A, 1B, 1C, etc.
-One more suggestion is the FX. If changing to a preset with a different FX algorithm, this is one more thing that takes time to load. If the same reverb is used for example from one preset to the next, then this won't introduce additional delay.

/Quote | Hmm. I've got the same preset for 1A and 2A, only difference is that 2A has a mid scoop... I still have the delay between them... half second, but it's there... |
