Congrats!

Okay got my fave basic sounds for the jag bass. How do uI access other banks to save presets.

Two more quick.questions.

1. I want to add my dig reverb, octave, dig delay, and mxr eq pedal into the mix. Whats best way to do it. Ive decided to only set up two banks flr each bass. One set dry, one set chorus. Then use floor pedals if and when i decide to accent stuff.

2. How do you access second set of eq and. Cabs while editing patches.

Sorry if these seeme like dumb redundant questions but i think got lost somewhere

1. I would put those pedals into the effect loop on the V-AMP Pro

2. Depending on the Operating Mode in-play on the V-AMP, you may not have access to the Cabinet EQ and the Live EQ. With this said, I suggest that the regular amp model EQ section be treated as the primary EQ in case the others are not accessible.

Good luck!

Question

I'll apologize if this has already been asked - there are just so many pages of this discussion and so little time.

I just got my V-Amp - so far so good! I've been following you quick start guide to getting everything rolling but I still have some questions:

1//If I wanted to hook a rack EQ to this unit, where would I put it - through the effects loop?

2//Sometimes I use a lot of pedals (Synth, Delay, Chorus, fuzz, flanger) and I like to have them at my feet.= 0 can I run bass->pedal board->V-Amp? I currently run Bass -> P.B -> and Amp and it's all good, but I wasn't sure if this would change anything.

3//In your guide you refer to the different modes (Studio versus Live) and I'm not sure I understand what I need to plug into what to get the desired effect. I current have it running from the signal send to my recording board (I just plugged it in and wanted to mess about) but my ultimate goal is to use it live as part of a small rack (V-Amp, EQ, Tuner, Head) I'm building.

Maybe I'm missing something - sorry if this is really basic stuff, I'm a visual person and I'm getting lost in wods and descriptions.

Cheers.

1. Effects loop

2. You could, but I suggest the effects loop

3. My suggestion, Bass -> V-AMP (L3 mode) -> 1/4" out to amp/head/combo, XLR out to mixer/recorder

Cheers!

  1. Enter CONFIG mode by pressing the [D] + [E] buttons simultaneously
  2. Press the [>] button until L3 is displayed on the front panel
  3. Exit CONFIG mode by pressing the [TUNER] (EXIT) button

Thanks again, one more question -

Can I use the POST DSP insert as the effect loop if I want to use both a rack EQ and my pedal board? Or would I have to choose one to run though the preDSP insert?

I would suggest use of POST DSP, as the POST DSP section is more the real effect loop and the PRE DSP section is a simple insert between your bass cable and the V-AMP's input jack.

Odd thing happened tonite. Going thru pa suddenly my spector sunds were way better than my jaguar. Just the opposite of at home thru headphones. For some reason the jaguar sounds were all distorted. Need to hear this thru my rig which has got a lot of low wend power.

Yeah its odd. I rolled off all distortion and gain to low levels or off uet the distortion is there with the jag. Weird sounds fine with head phones.

Hmmm maybe a batt replacement on jaguar. There was some dist on spector but not as much. And it soinded way better thru the board. Question both basses r active. Jag is very hot. I wonder if i need to roll back internal out put. As per the guide i jacked it to full when i got it. Not sure if i did a reset though.

Itll get its first run thru the carvin on sat. If i like. Ill be buying two more carvins and vamp pros. That way i have one for each band and a backup.

And all can be had for cheap. I just ise the stereo chorus. I have on the floorboard. A mxr octave deluxe, bbe sonic stomp, orange squash, dv-5, and a mxr ten band eq. Im also getting a chorus ensemble and prolly a mxr bass chorus, possibly a distortion pedal not sure. Im also grabbing the foot controller then can mess with wah stuff. Maybe an envelope filter. Oddly ill ise most of this stuff just for the new wave punk band. Tbe rock band is more straightforward.

Anyhow im getting long just gotta figure how to cut out the distortion on the jag. I love being at the edge with boomy growl but its just a hair too much. Patches just seemed hotter theu the board than headohones.

That Squier Vintage Modified Jazz fretless is a good pick
to toy with. I bought one to fool with around the house but,
it has become my go to for fretless gigging

Non-pro V-Amp - Where do you put it?

Mine sits on top of my amp but because it's so light, I worry about tripping over the cord and pulling it off. At the moment I loop the cord through the handle on my cab to prevent this happening.

Any other brilliant solutions?
