Always OK posting something like this unless you work for the company.

Awesome. I wonder if that is just a one-off, or if that is going to be in the product line. If it is, I'll buy one the second it becomes available (assuming is is ported and has a tweeter... can't tell from the pic)!

No way! A small footprint, vertically-arrayed 212? Why would they think anyone would want one of those?

Definitely a tweeter from what I can see, not sure on what the porting is.

Im with you I want one pretty much now; I nearly went for a MB NY122, but it was worth just thinking about it a little longer. This looks like the Berg cab Ive been waiting for.

Sent an email to Jim and he already bounced me back (talk about a great little company).

The AE212 will start shipping in late July.

I assume Jim will have this cab up on his site in a week or so.

I have a very nice 212 cab (actually two... TecAmp s212's). However, I just LOVE the voicing of the AE cabs. I hate dragging two 112's around, so this cab might really be cool for me for smaller gigs, where I don't need all the oomph of the mighty AE410, but need more than a 112 or even 210, neither of which ever really satisfied me.

I'll be buying one of these the day they come out

Just out of curiosity, Ken, have you ever tried the GB Neox 212T ?

I have. Nice cab... relatively large. I just totally dig the whole form factor, look and tone of the AE line... it just speaks to me. I need another vertical 212 like a hole in the head (the TecAmp cabs are amazing, and only 40 pounds). But, the AE calls!

The only way I wouldn't get one is if it turns out to be an 8ohm cab. However, I'm sure it will be 4ohms.

What are the tonal differences between the AE line and your TecAmps ?

The current s212 is voiced MUCH deeper than the AE line, with much smoother mids. The older s212's that I have are a bit more hi fi, and don't have quite the 'kick' in the low mids that I assume the AE212 is going to have. Of course, my guess is the AE212 will be 10 pounds heavier, but what the heck. I just dig these cabs.

Yep, the dealer in Australia has told me that he will have these when they become available. Definitely will be grabbing one for myself, and yes it will be 4 ohms. Man the form factor, weight and sound of these AE's is going to make them unbeatable IMO. A great backup for my AE410.

BTW, I was also told that Chuck from the Bass Emporium has been auditioning this cab and is blown away by it. I guess that says something.

That wouldn't surprise me. BE has a great relationship with Bergantino, and Chuck is an absolute monster player.
