Berg NV610 vs Eden D410T

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,
I play in a rock band, and play a Fender jazz into an Orange Terror Bass head, and two eden D410Ts. I have heard so many good things about the Berg NV610, but I'm wondering if the difference between Eden and Berg will be a huge one. What would I gain from the change? What would I lose? Which goes deeper? Which hits harder?

For reference, I turn the tweeters in my eden off, but they are both rear ported. I know other versions of Eden 410s (XLT, XST) go a big deeper, but I'm using the rear ported 410s.

Well I'd say the NV610 is hard to beat for punch and clarity. Being a sealed cab, the lows don't extend as far per se. If you like a boomy tone, it's probably not for you. I can't really speak for the D410Ts. It would stand to reason that 2x410s would be louder than a 610 and that will also impact the perceived low-end extension. Given that you don't play with a tweeter, you'd like the Berg's smooth top end. I can get a lot more pleasing treble out of that cab than I ever could with a tweeter-loaded cab.

That said, the NV610 is the LAST big cab I will ever own. It simply sounds the best.

I recently played a Eden D410T, and my view is it is a very polite, smooth sounding box, I'd say if your into Hi-Fi bass it would be a cabinet to go to, but I believe, it's only a 200-300 watt cabinet .... if you want the crunch-punch that the NV610 delivers, then get the Berg, it sits very well in the mix, it sounds good with just about any quality amp ,

I am intrigued, I thought my D410T was punchy...
Is the NV610 that aggressive?
Got to try one sometime ...

I really like the 410t personally (much like the Goliath II). It's a very clean sounding cab. The NV610 is a different cab entirely. Having played both cabs and the head, but not together, I would think the terror bass head wouldn't be the optimum match for the eden based on the sound you seem to be looking for.

I don't know if it would be louder, but the porting or lack thereof could make the 610 cut thru better in your band situation. I believe the Eden makes punch cabs, but I don't think the 410t is near as punchy as a NV610

Trying an NV610 will make you redefine your definition of punchy!

The 410T is a pretty punchy cab but the NV610 is unbelievably so. It's almost percussive.

The D410T is essentially the original Goliath, not the Goliath II

THIS has me excited. That sounds incredible!
Interesting that the Terror Bass makes a poor match into the eden. I'm really liking the sound, so I can't imagine what it would be like through the NV610! I know the orange has been described as a somewhat vintage tone, which sounds like it would compliment the NV610.

I have a Terror Bass and an NV610. They sound great together. Very loud. Although My Mesa 400+ sounds better with the cab.

If you buy the NV610 and don't like it, I'd gladly buy it off you!
