So I know I've made a couple of threads already in my search for a grab-n-go/practice cab but I feel like I left them too open ended for me to get the input I'm looking for. So here's the deal: I love my F500 and AE410 setup and I want that sound in a nano-rig sized cab. Pretty simple right ? I was thinking about a Markbass Club 151 or 201 but I beginning to think that Markbass cabs just aren't for me after remembering my time with a STD104HR. That and I haven't heard a peep from anyone on either cab.
Seeing as this is something I plan on using by itself (no second cab), something vertically oriented and capable of getting loud would be ideal. If you don't think it'll sound similar to the AE410, please don't suggest it. And no, I'm not making my own cab so you fEarful guys don't even need to start typing .

Really, I have no guideline for loudness I just don't want people suggesting a cab that they think is badass because it moved a piece of lint of their bedroom floor. I need it to be able to gig it on it's own comfortably. So maybe a small bar/club or a jam season with friends? I know I had a friend whose Ampeg BA115 couldn't handle a jam (it was distorting like mad) so I guess that can be used as a point of reference.

I bought a lot of gear over the last two years and ended with a MB F1 and berg 112/210 stack. I haven't played your AE410, but I think I get a good feel for what you have.
Curious if you have ever played and of Phil Jones stuff. I owned a suitcase for a period of time and to me it seemed to hold the same principle values of the markbass berg combinations. Clean deep punchy and respectable loud. Not going to do a bar gig without PA support, but would keep up in practice with a heavy drummer and guitarist.

Played one and really dug it but it only being 8 ohms instead of 4 has me a little hesitant. The same goes for the Markbass Club cabs.
I've tried Phil Jones and their stuff is schweet but they seem to be a bit on the heavy side and not particularly easy to find. The 6B has grabbed my interest though. Really looks like it's just what I'm after and I've always liked the sound.

I've been contemplating going to 1 or 2 stacked Thunderchilds vs my current 1 or 2 stacked RS210's, but the cash investment keeps castrating things. I'm content with what I have for my needs... actually the 2 RS210's are more than I need for current gigs but the band leader likes seeing 4 vertical 10's sitting there, and his motto is "you can't have to much bass... you put it where you want and I'll tell you if you need to turn down". Each gig he almost always tells me "I need more you"... which I willingly provide.
He was very skeptical the first time I brought the 2 RS210's and stacked them vertically. "*** you got there man..."
But after the first set he made sure to tell me "bring them bad boys every gig..."
:-)

An F500 or any decent 300/500 watt micro can push the AE210 very nicely at full gig volume. It is, of course, much heavier than your weight target, but you won't find anything in that weight range that sounds anything like the AE410 and is giggable.
The little Genz Shuttle3/10 is tonally in the same ballpark, is VERY small and lightweight, but would be more of a practice amp. |

I now use the AE112 for small gigs and AE210 for medium size gigs both without drums. I use both together if there'll be drums on the gig.
If I had to pick one cab that gave the same vibe as the AE410, I'd go with the AE112. If I remember correctly, the AE410 had a certain type of aggressiveness. I hear an aggressiveness in the 112 (maybe a little different but aggressive none the less) while the AE210 is a little smoother. Plus, if you want to downsize, the AE112 is a lot easier to carry than the AE210.
All that said, if I could only use one cab, it'd be the AE210. It's louder and more of a "blank canvas" for my sound than the AE112.

The extra bonus is the Berg cover still fits with the extra feet!
