Bergantino AE410 vs. Avatar B410 Neo

Sign in to disble this ad
I have read through several threads on both the Avatar B410 Neo and the Bergantino AE410 and I was hoping to get everyones opinion / experience with either or both of the cabinets. I recently purchased a Genz Benz Streamliner and I am looking at getting a 4 ohm 410 cabinet as my main rig. I currently own an 8 ohm Avatar B410 Neo but the reviews of the Berg have me curious. I realize there is a difference in the quality of construction but is there really that much of a difference in sound? We are talking about $449 vs. $1149 here. All opinions are appreciated. Does anyone in the St. Louis area have a Berg AE410 that they would be willing to let me hook my Streamliner up to? If so I'll bring my Avatar along for an A/B comparison. Thanks everyone

The usable power difference between an 8 ohm and a 4 ohm cabinet, otherwise equivalent, isn't very high and certainly isn't worth losing the ability to add another cabinet if you need. In other words, don't buy a 4 ohm cab. Buy an 8 ohm one and should you ever need more volume, add another 8 ohm cab on top.

Depends. If you know you would never use a second 410, and you purchase a quality 410 like the Berg that can actually make use of the power, buying 4ohm is a no brainer. It will also allow you to use a wider variety (i.e., lower wattage) of amps.

+1 though.... if the OP will be using multiple cabs with the Streamliner than 8ohms is the way to go, and the Streamliner 900 has enough power to slam pretty hard at 8ohms. The AE410 only comes in 4ohm version though. It takes all of what the Streamliner 900 can give it though. Fantastic cab for that head. Never heard the Avatar, so can't help out there.

Never played an Avatar but have read good things here; have played and own a Berg.
I think it's safe to say that most would prefer the Berg over the Avatar although the big question is the cost vs. the performance.
Only you can decide if the Berg brings enough value to justify the cost.

I ended up with a Bergantino AE410. NO COMPARISON. The Avatar is a great bang for the buck but the Bergantino sounds phenominal. I'll never go back.

If you can afford the Bergantino, BUY IT. And I'm not just riding a fanboy bandwagon. I have actually owned three Berg cabinets and they are some of the best made cabinets out there. Period.

I have an AE410, and it's the bomb. It's right up there with the other 410s I've owned, but weighs only 62 pounds as opposed to 95+ for most of the others (D-410XLT, GS410, Quattro plus an HT322).
