Ok, this is part 4 and the final thread of my comparison/decision help.
From the help of you guys earlier on 3 separate threads, I have now narrowed down my decision to these two cabs -
A Genz Benz Uber Bass GB 410T-UB-4
or a
Bergantino HS410
(of course I would like a Sadowsky SA-410 but I have been searching all eBays, all craigslists, all forums classified, etc.. and none are to be found, and I can't wait any longer)
Also, I would like to add, that this is not going to be my last and/or one and only cab... JUST my first. So its not the end all of end all's, I just want it to be killer for what I do now.
A recap of me is:
Heads used:
Vintage 1971 Ampeg Blueline SVT
Vintage 1970 Ampeg Blueline B25
Vintage 1971 Ampeg V4
Basically = All tubes, All Vintage, All the time..
Usage:
Studio recording only - (yes I know they are all overkill, but like the tone when volume is barely up better on these than with smaller "studio heads")
Me:
Beginner bassist, BUT a professional studio owner that has finally decided to have some in house amp heads, cabs, etc.. so there will be no such thing as "that is too good for you now" type of stuff. I don't want the fact that I am a lame bassist and guitar player to get in the way of having the best possible gear. (lol)
Styles:
All except country and metal. Mainly Soul, Pop Commercial Top 40's stuff, Hip Hop, Funk, Rock, 80's sound, and a fusion of all with all - etc..
Mainly clean finger bass style with frets, tasteful slapping and popping here and there, groove lock oriented stuff, clean but with bite and occasional growl is all good.
Basses used:
Mainly American Fender(s) - P Bass and Jazz Bass
Rickenbackers here and there
Maybe a Sadowsky and/or Brubaker here and there (if I decide to get one)
So which cab out of these two do you feel would be best for me personally ?
Thanks in advance for all the help guys ! |
