After years of wanting to try the brand, my local store finally inked the deal to carry the Bergantino line. It took me about 10 seconds to fall in love with the HT112. Holy cow! Buying two of these things was the easiest and quickest decision I think I've ever made when it comes to bass gear.
Funny thing is, I can't really say I was in the market. Last summer I fell back in love with the Aguilar GS112, and have been regularly gigging one or two of them since. The only thing I would've wanted from it was a bit more love in the mids. Otherwise...I actually thought I was done. Silly me.
A/B-ing the Berg HT against the GS, I was literally blown away. To my ears, the HT does everything the GS does, but a bit better. Fat, full lows that hit hard and quick when pushed. Nice crisp highs that are smooth but not thin. Plus it's got a punchy mid voicing that just brings a smile to my face. Amazing.
So, I used one of these on two gigs this weekend. The first one was a small group thing, and it sounded great. I used my MTD sixer to cover a few guitar parts, and I found the tone to be perfect. A pic and a few clips... I'm Yours I Left My Heart... Put Your Records On Twisted
Last night's gig was really something. 10-piece group and a larger room. I considered bringing both cabs, but between the weather, a tight carpool setup, and a tighter stage setup, I settled for one. No worries, but I'm still amazed at how a single 12" cab kicks this much booty. I used my Lull M5V, and smiled all night at the sound. (Lots more ambient noise on this gig...sorry about that.) Lovely Day I Need to Know Play that Funky Music... I Will Survive I Wish
Overall, I'm ecstatic...the sound is just amazing. The final positive...the handle is in the "right" spot - left side (stage right side, I guess), so I can route my instrument cable through it. Embrace the OCD, baby, embrace it. |

The one without the x-over and tweeter is labeled the EX. (I almost ordered one, but since my local store had two HT's in stock, instant gratification got the best of me.) In any case, I've certainly not heard a better 12" cab. The last time I was this excited was when I ran my Sadowsky M5-24 into an Epifani 410 cab. |

The ER took its place. |

The ER is not as strong in the mids(still has plenty) and has plenty of low end. Puts out much more volume. Sounds much bigger than it is. It almost sounds like a good 15" cab. |

Many folks know the girth that the GS112s have.. I may have asked this here,. but i have been posting all day and cant remember what or where i have asked this,, so please be easy on me. I guess i need to hear it once more. But it seems that from what people have said the HT112er can easily comp the booty of the GS112 while have everything the GS is missing when it comes to clarity, and punch and speed...? Thats my take at least..

I was talking about this with a friend just today... So im really finding out all i can about the 112s before i go and peal the greens off one more time.....

Liked them so much I got an NV610 shortly after. For most of what I do the HT/EX is more than enough and there are times when I prefer their tone over the NV.

All this talk makes me want to get another for a stack. Hey Vroom Vroom, did your dealer also have the AE112 in stock, and if so did you compare the two? |
