They don't come up because they are superb. I can't think of why I'd EVER sell mine. So skrimp and save and you'll experience the joy of ownership once you get there.

They're worth every penny.

Cheers,
Cameron

I have a couple Berg 10" HT cabs, which I love, but are just too heavy. When I decided to buy a couple 12" cabs, I really wanted to try something different and read up on just about everything out there. For my tastes, I just couldn't find anything I thought I would like as much as the Berg HT/EX 112ER setup. Plenty of ok cabs to go with, but I'm not aware of anything that will really compare to the Bergs (if that's the sound you want) IMO/IME.

While I do prefer the HT112ER, the GK Neo-112II is a very strong contender that costs and weighs a good bit less.

Tom.

What do you lose, in your opinion, going to the AE112?

AE112 has a different voice, more of an aggressive grindy mid is how it's typically described. Some people prefer it, I like the smoothness of the HTs.

If you like the more creamy, fat, smooth voicing of the Berg HT line, the LDS 12/6 (configured with the Eminence 3012LF woofer and the Faital mid driver) is just amazing... huge low end, smooth mids, organic top end... fantastic box.

Here's a picture of one execution, with a clip! this box will do everything except full out Marcus Miller sizzle (for that, just make it a three way box with the wonderful Eminence tweeter and Patterson custom crossover).

lol I picked up a HT112 since I can't really afford surfing the TB classifieds looking for specific item and seeing those awesome gears and having some major GAS..

its also just a soft sounding cab compared to the tougher more pounding ht112er. just a brillantly designed cab. even the handle is awesome.

He means the AE112's.. For me both are brilliant cabs but it's based on your preference.. The AE is lighter too and that's a plus.!
