Best 1x15 or 2x12 cabs for vintage tone to pair with Mesa Bass 400+?

I don't think a 2x15 or 4x12 cab would be very practical. Just checked the weight and they easily exceed 100 pounds! I don't think it'd be easy to lug this through stairs.

So I think a 1x15 or 2x12 cab would be the way to go with the possibility of buying a 2nd one of whichever one I go for.

Which models should I go for, oh bass experts?

I am also looking for a vintage style 2x12 cab to pair with my Fender Bassman 100 tube head.

Maybe get LDS to build you a sealed, tweeterless 2x12? I think Fliptops could do something like that for you too.

Although I haven't tried one out personally, the Genz Benz Uber 2x12 gets high marks around here for great "vintage tone".

Mesa Diesels or Power House 1X15 sound really good for a vintage tone and you can get them pretty cheap. Guitar center has a bunch used for less than $400. I would look into that for sure. I'm sure it would kill with the 400+!
