Best 210/212 and 1x15 set?

Sign in to disble this ad
For sound and money, what do you TB'ers think is the best 210 or 212 paired with a 1x15?

I am using a GK 800 RB and looking for two 4 ohm cabs that serve this set up best. Also using a G&L SB bass. Looking for something tight and punchy, but with good lows and keeps hte bottom.

What do y'all think?

The best? Nope, but they're mine and they move lots of air and mediocre bass playing (both are 4 Ohm cabs).
210TVX & BX-115BW

sound-wise, they are pretty cold (if that makes sense), even when EQ'd. I found that putting a MXR M80 in-line helps warm things up a bit.
Active basses through this rig tend to bring out even more coldness, while my favorite passive basses sound exactly like I like 'em.

I've since replace the head in this picture with a Peavey Pro500 and now there is an overall warmer feel to the pair - and I like it enough to keep.
If you don't like hauling small buildings around, stay away - especially the 210 - I can't believe what that thing weighs.
Good thing I'm only 50 years old and in the prime of my life.

I'm not in favour of pairing any mismatched cabinets. If you already have a 1x15 look for another identical cabinet.

Why are you looking for 4Ω cabinets? The 800RB has a 4Ω minimum not 2Ω. You should be looking for 8Ω cabinets.

I'll be running a Bassman 50 in the 1x15, which I haven't gotten yet.

I am for matching cabs also, so anything in that area... well that would be good.
