| | | | Best Amp for a Rickenbacker Just came into a Rickenbacker 4001. I need some ideas on the best amp setup to bring out the best for this guitar? I really want to capture that classic "Rick" sound. |

No certain "amp" is going to give you that classic Ric clank-
How you EQ it will (bump the mids!)-
I couldn't decide on amps, so I play mine through a
Mesa 400+ & an Acoustic 370 w/ Ampeg 810's at the same
time-Both bring out the classic "clank"- |

| | | | There are a lot of different "classic rick" sounds. Which one do you mean? |

I have used mine through various GK heads as well as a Genz Benz 750; most recently a Markbass SA 450. The Ric sound comes through loud and clear no matter what head. After that it is what sort of coloration, distortion etc. do you want to add to it.
