you can slap through a b15 if you want.
It depends on what slap tone you're after.

Indeed. I slapped through my B15R (with the stock speaker) and I now slap through my walkabout scout 12. Anything you like is good.

A loud one. Slap sounds terrible through an underpowered amp.

Beyond that it's personal preference.

My personal preference for a "slap" amp, is one that is turned off. But seriously...something with a tight bottom and very controllable mids.

Older SWR's had great high-end sizzle and tight bottom.. i'm not familiar with the stuff after fender bought it though..

honestly, it's more about technique than which amp you buy.

It depends on the bass too what kind of bass do you have?? and how you eq your bass?? There are so many amps to choose from go to your local GC or local bassshop store and try out different amps to see if you find the slap tone your looking for it's all i can tell you. Me on small gigs i use a Carvin BX-500 and for bigger gigs i use a aguilar AG-500sc i get amazing slap tone on both amps.

I'd guess you'd want one with the most horribly obnoxious tone possible.

You'll want one with a good compressor on board or be prepared to buy a good pedal / rack one on top of the amp price.

i so don't buy into that. people who need a compressor to balance finger and slap should work on their technique instead. i can match my volumes...if i can do it, anyone can.
