Best Bass practice amp under $200

Hey everyone, this is my first talk bass post. Im looking for a good sounding new OR used 50-100 watt bass amp for under $200. Whats your favorite practice amp?

I'd take a look at the Cafe Walter HA-1, and a good pair of big headphones. I think that'd be the perfect private practice setup.

I've been looking for the same... and although I haven't tried it, this looks cool:

$149 at MF

I like the idea of the two RCA inputs for your external music player.

Eden and Gallien-Krueger each make one at $199.

I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of these.

Good luck!

I have a nemesis N28S which I hate and I'm trying to sell it in hopes of getting the Gallien Krueger Backline 110

in the real amp world... tons of options.. my little 50 cost $50 on craigslist.

Amps really don't start rocking till they get bigger.

I've got a Fender Rumble Amp. It's 15 watts with an 8" speaker. It's not much but it's good enough to practice with.

Peavey Max112: 30 watts x 12" for $199 new. I have the smaller Max 158 (15 watts x 8") and its surprisinigly loud.

I don't think there are many combos out there w/ at least 50 watts for less than $200 new.

If it's truly a personal PRACTICE amp you're looking for (read: not intended for use with your garage metal band), check out the Acoustic B20. Don't let the wattage listing fool you-- it will get plenty loud for a personal practice amp. And you're not going to find better tone for under $200.

Here is my vote. I have the older sw35. 10 in with a tweeter 35watts. It's louder than it is on paper. With some eq tweaking it is loud enough to be heard over a drummer and a guitarist using a crate combo with FX. Great tone and loud and low.

I found a 35 watt Hartke 110 combo with an XLR direct out an effects loops, and an aluminium speaker for $150. That sounds like a good deal to me, although I've never played a Hartke amp in my life!
