Arrow Best Battery Powered Bass Amp for Outdoor Gig!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I'm due to play a set in a park in a months time or so, bass, drums, guitar and vocals. It's pretty wide open so I'm not sure that the Roland Microcube at 5 watts is going to be enough to keep up with the rest of the band and the environment, unless you guys have experience where this is not so.

Any thoughts on how I can get some sizeable power supply free sound without spending large sums of money?

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers.

Get a big power converter, connect it to a car or truck with a high capacity alternator and a big battery or two (diesel). Park close enough to run an extension cord.

Rent a generator? How are you going to deal with amplifying vocals and guitar?

No battery powered bass amp will cut it in this situation. If this is an actual gig, there wuill be electricity. If not, don't waste your money on a battery powered bass amp. They're good for not much else than quiet practice, or acoustic accompanyment.

You don't even need a Battery!

I would think there would be a place that you could rent a Generator. but not sure.

Problem with those small generators is they are seriously noisy.

Well it's just an Idea. and I wouldn't recommend having it any closer then 30 feet to anyone.

Except for the really small Honda and Yamaha camping generators; not a lot of output but unbelievably quiet

Upgrade your muffler if you got a loud genset - it can make a big difference. I have used the Supertrapp unit with the large resonator and gotten good results.

I'll have to look into that. I figured there weren't options for generators. In your experience did it fit in the stock location/space or was the quieter one larger?
