Best cab configuration for an SVT3 Pro?

Hi.

What would be the ideal cab configuration for an SVT3 Pro? I currently have 1 SVT-15E.
I play loud, heavy rock, live.
I'm looking to fully utilize the head for the best, loudest sound I can get out of that amp.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I would get another svt-15e to match properly and definetly wouldnt scoop out the mids if your looking for any volume or projection.

Get a matching cab

Don't mix a 1X15 with a 4X10

Also agree with disregarding the EQ'ing advice - Don't scoop the mids

Can you explain why I shouldn't mix cabs? I've seen plenty of bass 'stacks' that had a 1x15 and a 4x10 on top. If they work out with respect to impedence, shouldn't that be ok?

Better redirect, why do you think you should mix cabs? What support do you have for it besides, "I saw so and so do it..." ?

You can start by re-reading YOUR same thread from March

Recommended configuration?

And wow re-reading that, there was a ton of good info. BFM even chimed in and so did Jimmy per ampeg rigs.

Why the re-hashing of the same question?

Bass Pounder, CL400 - I will go back and check that other post. I'm not a frequent contributor here, and I forgot that I had posted that. And CL400 - thank you for being so kind and helpful. :/

Not trying to be un-helpful. Was trying a little "guided inquiry" by asking you the basis of your question. Would rather have you understand the answer, than expect you to just follow direction.

610 or 810 is best IMO. I preferred ported.

From re-reading both threads, I say you need to ditch the 15 you are currently using and get something of HIGHER Quality. The B series is budget gear from Ampeg - it's not bad stuff, but if you are constantly re-coning speakers, you need to make a LARGE upgrade. I have NEVER need to re-cone or replace a speaker in my 10 years of playing.

Look in the used market, buy from a local bass player. You can tell in minutes if the guy actually took care of his gear. Post back stuff you find on craigslist.org and we will help you decide. Visit Guitar Center on a weekday afternoon - if possible - when no one is around. Take your bass, 3 PRO, and plug into every cabinet they have until you find something better. Then get two of those cabs.

In my experience that amp sounds best through a 4 ohm load. You'll also get more volume out of it that way.

I'd suggest a 2x15, 610, or 810.
