Best combo amp under $300?

Sign in to disble this ad
Is there any good one? Looking for a good road travel amp that I can just tote it and my bass no separate parts(cab/head).

Is there a decent one around 300 and louder than 150 watts?

Second on the Acoustic B200. Acoustic makes fine amps with great versatility and amazing tone. Best value for the buck, by far.

The Fender Rumble 150 and GK MB112 are great choices too, all with very different voicings, so try before you buy. Make sure you take your own bass to try them out. And don't get caught up in wattage ratings. Some, like the entire Acoustic series, sound much louder than their rated wattage would lead you to believe.

I just recently bought the fender rumble 150 at a local music store for practice and its compact size, and I'm happy with it, though I feel like the horn acts more like a clipping device. I know it sounds weird, but I swear its how is seems.

The tone is great, and for the price, mine cost me 350 but you can get them cheaper I just went local, you can't beat it. Unless you went with the acoustic b200.

What I also like about the rumble is they did away with that annoying red light. Some like it I know, but to me it was unwanted flare on a decently solid amp.

All the selections I read sound good to me overall.

..

It’s difficult to find a good, jam-able combo with high-wattage and a good speaker for 300 bucks. The GK MB112 and the Carvin MB10 are the best bets for compact, powerful, and affordable combos. Most others in their price range are 35-50 watts.

I don't have experience with all these options, so I can't really answer the question in terms of what's best, but I sure am happy with my GK mb112. It's worth checking out.

I love my Acoustic b200. I went to gc to check out the fender rumble 150, not the sound i was looking for. Tried the acoustic and loved it. I'm still playing with different settings and finding new sounds. Did I mention it's really loud!!. I suggest you take your bass and start playing any amp you can until you find one that you like.

Ampeg's BA-112 can be had for under $300 ..... Great tone for me, but may not be loud enough to get over a full on drummer. The 5 position switch for "voicings' is nice.

It's only 50 watts .... great tone, though.

Agree about the GK. Got one for my son and it sounds great for the price.
