| | | | Best head for double PH212 Mesa setup

Like the title says, I am looking for a head for my new to me double PH212 setup. Does anyone around here use one or two of these cabs. If so what are you powering it with? I am currently using a Trace Elliot RAH600SMX and it sounds good, but I just feel like I'm not giving these cabs the power they want. Any help or comments would be appreciated. |

I can't imagine running (2) PH212 cabs but if I were going to, I believe I'd spring for the M9 Carbine. If the Carbine sound isn't your style and you wanted a bit more power, I'd go for the Titan V12. Mesa is hard to beat, IMO. |

M9 or the V12 depending on your tone goal
I certainly can't distinguish the difference in power level between the M9 and V12.

| | | | I own an M9 and a PH412 and it really is the best rig I have ever played through. The M9 has such a lightning fast response but can still be warm if the input gain is taken past halfway. If you haven't tried a carbine you really should especially if considering the Mesa 212 cabs.

I can see the V12 working nice too. I had a V12 and PH412 before this rig. Was a complete monster. |

Similar type of high-power solid-state head that will fully power two 4-ohm 2x12 cabs @ approximately 1,000 watts RMS per cab!

| | | | Sorry. Been busy with fam and gigs. I forgot about my thread. Has anyone with an m9 ever played through a trace compressor? That is my fav part of the head I have right now and I am just wondering if the compressor on the m9 is as good. Thanks for all your replies. |

| | | | Been rocking this rig for about two months now and I really like it, but I am only giving each cab about 180 watts. Sounds really good, but I am sure it can get better with more power. I thought about just adding a power amp, but that would just be too heavy and big.
I'll probably be ordering either an m9 or m6 on payday this month. The only other head I am considering now is an mb800. |

I would say that the compressor on the M9 is pretty similar. It simple to set and effective. I dont think its anything fancy like TC electronics puts on their amps, but it sounds good to me. If you are really particular about compression, it might be worth while to use a multiband compressor. But for my playing style the M9 compressor works great.
