Best head for a Peavey 412 TVX

Sign in to disble this ad
Okay, here goes.
I purchased a used 412 tvx and was wondering what the typical purchase may have been if ya walked into a peavey supplier at the time and bought this cab and a 400 watt 4 ohm head.
Im talking a classic rock cover band scenario.
I really would like to match it up with a nice peavey head of that era.
Im thinking the firebass or nitro?
Thanx in advance,
Jeff

I had that cab, just sold it, and used both a Firebass and Ampeg SVT III Pro.

I loved the Firebass, wish I could have kept the whole setup, but was running out of room.

It would be hard to go wrong with a Firebass, but Peavey has some good older heads. I'm sure you will get some more great suggestions, like maybe a Peavey Nitrobass or Peavey T-Max.

I used the Firebass with a 412 TVX. If the cab wasn't such a monster, I would still have the rig. Great set up.

Ended up getting a nice Nitrobass in great shape.
Thanx for the direction and feedback guys!
If anyone has this rig and an Ibanez GSR200 I would love to hear how to achieve a nice classic P bass tone, maybe just enough feedback to cut down on the tweeking of knobs a little.
Thanx Talkbass and members.

Hey taurus, did you find a nice head to go with that 412TVX yet?
Just curious.
