My question is; what in your opinion are the best name brands for Bass amps and in what order?
I'm really curious to see the results!
Thank you |

Entirely subjective IMO.
I think you would need to do an unscientific poll to find out the most popular brands on these here forums. Even then, it will only be a handful of people who answer.

It's Ampeg because the word "amp" is in the name.
That's all the logic and reasoning you need right there, |

2-Hevos
For me anyways and in this order.

| | Registered User Exar went out of business, so... | | Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: PDX, OR | | | I've always felt the best name in amps is Glockenklang, just because it sounds so cool and Kraftwerk-y. But I don't mean to say their amps sound or perform better than other brands, necessarily. |

| | Registered User Endorsing Artist: Conklin Guitars (Basses) | | Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Kansas City Metro Area | | | For rock and metal and big stage stuff, i have owned an Ampeg SVT, a Peavey Mark IV and my current (to me) Mesa M-2000. The Mesa is a godsend, i hated the Ampeg and some days i miss the Peavey. It had a 4x12 dual ported cab from the 70s and i think was a full frequency amp. I sold it for money for things of vanity, not things i needed. I have also had an old school peavey 115 combo and it was a workhorse.
I really do love my Mesa though. I've used it with my Upright even.
I just got an Ibanez Promethean a week ago. The 5110, not the new one. Its freaking amazing!
Hopefully i can get the 110c extension cab and that will probably set me for my big, medium and small rigs for life!
Crate sucks.
