The best portable, high wattage amps.

So, I am looking to downsize from my current amp setup. I have an Orange ad200b, but the band im playing with stopped hauling a trailer so its time to downsize to something smaller. Im looking for great tone, powerful, and can push an 8x10.
I know there are a lot of companies making smaller amps now, but i havent been able to try that many out.

Does anyone have any favorites i should try or ones that stand out?? I'm open to any brand.

Thanks!!

Ibanez.com | The Promethean

That's my favorite! Powerful, very light, kick4$$ tone and very practical to carry...

Try the Orange Terror Bass 500. Same eq section as the AD200B, class D power amp, valve pre, 500w, will drive an 8x10 easily. Switchable between 4 and 8 ohms.

Carvin Bx1500 is 4Ω/1500W or 8Ω/900W and weighs only 10 lbs.

Ibanez Promethean

I had one and sold it to buy my Walter Woods. I've played several times with the head and I wass allways happy with the sound. The Genz Benz don't play loud enough for me.

Your downsizing the head but not the cab?
I'd keep the head and shrink cab size or carry one of two identical cabs. IMHO. Then you have it when you need it.
