Best Practice Amps

What are the bext practice amps to go for? I am thinking of spending £100 max. Something thats easy to get hold of in the UK. Also does anyone know any good places in the North West (Lancs/Mersey area) that sells small amps? Used to go to Sound Control in Salford but it closed down

Laney RB1 if you're sticking to budget. But, if you can stretch to the Laney RB2 which goes for about £130, you won't be disappointed. It's the most impressive amp I've ever plugged into in terms of performing ahead of expectations. To me, it's the lowest cost way into a real bass sound.
