Best rig $3800 budget

Well guys as the tittle says I´m looking for a new rig and all I got is $3800 to spend, my question is what head and cab would be the best I can get for that money.

I play in a hardrock band and we have motley, skid row, white lion and acdc as ours main influences. Also I love Rachel Bolan´s tone in Slave to the Grind, anything that can help me to get that tone would make me so freakin happy-

P.S I know he uses an Spector but I cant afford one atm.

If you have 3800 dollars to spend, you can afford a nice Czech spector and still get a heck of a bass rig.

SansAmp RPM ($325 new, less used) into power amp of your choice ($500 ish?) and depending on your PA, probably 2 2x10s stacked vertically (Avatars, $800). Spend the leftover $2200 on a used, USA Spector .

But, that's just totally what I'd do if I was in your shoes, and pretty much what I have now. I don't know you, your gigging situation, or anything like that at all, so really, you just need to go out and get your paws on gear and see what you like/don't like.

I'd be looking at Mesa's If i had that kind of budget.

Probably just get a an SVT classic and a 4x10 cabinet?

Personally I'd just pick up a 400watt combo from Markbass or Genz Benz and an SVT bass pedal and a compressor and call it a day.
Then save the rest for either another bass or a down payment on a house, but that's just me.

3800 is over kill for a rig unless you're trying to kill small animals.

The main problem is that I dont live in the USA, I live in Peru...so its imposible to me to find second hand pro equips here, I need to order them

With a budget of nearly $4k, the question is more "what can't you afford?" I don't know how to say this delicately, so I'll just say it and hope you aren't offended. If you're asking what you can afford with that much of a budget it sounds like you really don't know the market very well. You're a prime candidate to be ripped off, so take someone with you that knows the market well. If you really don't know what you want, buy used so that you can flip it for about the same price if you watch what you're buying.

Also, you really don't need to spend that much. Keep your eyes open and your cash at home until you've made a decision. You should have a very nice rig when it's all over.

We could tell you some good stuff to get, but there will be a chance you will not like it at all.

Idd buddy, I live in Peru... you can´t find pro equipments in my country...thats why I´m asking you guys for advise

overkill ? nah, my rig is almost 20 grand and i have 2 complete rigs. so far no casualties. as a bassist, better to have too much than not enough. i normally only use 1/3 of its capability, but then again i dont have to move it a 1000 watt rig at 300w sounds stronger than a 300 watt rig at 300w. three 4x10 cabs should cut any bar gig. for rock, personally i would go with a 2x18 or 2x15 cab with a 4x10 for mids and highs. johnny a. staind.

What brands are available? No idea what the import duties/tariffs are in Peru but I hope it's not like Australia where you end up paying double what you would in the US.

My dream rig is Mesa. If I had $3800 I'd be looking at that. Heck I could still probably have a few hundred left over after to spend on a shiny new bass too...

I see Carvin sells in Peru through a dealer. If I were buying blind, I'd get a B2000 head and a BRX4.10 cabinet. That should cover just about any situation.

How big a rig do you need? Are you going to be playing big outdoor gigs? Small indoor venues? Sometimes the bass rig is a glorified monitor, so it's just so you can hear it. Sometimes you need that power to get your sound out there.

If it were me, I would buy a couple of Acme Low B-2s and an Eden WT1205. This is just my dream rig, but the opinions of others will differ. I currently have an Eden WT300 and a single Acme Low B-2 Series I. If money was no issue with me, I would look at a Glockenklang rig (although I don't know much about their specific models).

Nono the main reason I was saying I live in Peru and that we dont have dealers of many brands is that I can´t try them...I have 3800 dollars to spend on my equipment my bro will cover all taxes

With what you like for your tone in a band, I'd get an SVT and 810e and be done with it. Don't know about shipping getting covered but $3800 could buy you a Heritage SVT rig. Or you could get an SVT-VR and have $500 left over. Or you could get the regular SVT-CL and 810e. All of them killer rigs IMHO.

It's hard to go wrong with an SVT and an 8x10.

Plus you'd be getting a known brand you can count on and guaranteed to cover whatever your needs are. Very little chance you wouldn't like it (aside from the weight).

Very good stuff...might work for you...but they're not an SVT
