right now, I would choose a 750-900w Mesa Walkabout (if there could be such a thing) - in an oiled birch headcase, and 2 Mesa Walkabout/Scout 15's in oiled birch cabs with wicker grills.
but that's only because the Walkabout is the best sounding amp I have used so far. As Passinwind points out, there are so many rigs that I have not played, or had the chance to try, that there is no real way for me to provide a good answer to this post.
I might also consider one of the Ampeg Heritage B-15's (the one with the 2 separate B15 pre's in it) with a heritage B15 extension cab. But this would only work if I only played with solid, well run FOH all the time (which, sadly, I do not).

It had a quality direct line out box(to the side of the amp), large equalization capabilities, a limiter even! I just did a search for this thing...no reviews. It must be pretty rare. The used one I had cost $200. in 1993. I traded it in for a Magnavox-era Ampeg SVT, and 8x10 cab. Big mistake. |

With that said, however, if I could go back to an Aguilar DB750 or 751 and a GS410 or two, I might be even happier. I still miss that amp.....

Neve 8801 into a Meyer CQ-2 sitting on top of a Meyer 700 HP laid on its side...I have played this rig and it absolutely SLAYS!!
Realistically though....
Neve 8801 Preamp Feeding the Power Amp Section of an Aguilar DB750 for power and an Accugroove El Whappo and a Bergantino NV215...Feeding the cab I preferred for what I am playing.
I still have some of the components from this rig but I use Future Sonics In Ears about 90% of the time so I really don't get much time to use it and have been using a Mesa Boogie M6 212 Combo for the last couple of years or so when I need a rig with many compliments!!
Peace,
T

I keep thinking how cool having a pair of Berg NV610's or Berg AE410's, but damn.... I really like the AE210's! | Well my 2nd Mesa M9 died on a gig shortly after I posted this.
Got rid of the M9 and bought a Jule Monique preamp and a Crest poweramp..... Still running the AE210s.
Best tone I have ever had. Just an amazing rig.
