best tubes for metal???

Sign in to disble this ad
I am after some help and what better way to ask for it is from the people who matter...

I am looking to replace the valves on my SVT 3 pro and I am really confused over what I should go for. Any recommendations would be fantastic, I play metal but like a smoother tone rather than a grit bottom end and tend to break away from the pocket so still need to stand out. The set up I have allows me to do this well however this is the first time I have replaced my valves and don't want to loose this with the wrong choice of tubes.

Any advise welcome

With Ampeg hybrid heads in general, the tube choice is not making a huge difference. Something about the low voltage to the tubes in Ampeg hybrid heads.

Just replace the tubes with whatever is already in there.
