I though someone mentioned one of those "sweater razors" to keep the fur trimmed...

I could be disremembering though...

I have bought a few beat up looking rat fur covered cabs off of CL that I cleaned up by:

1 vacuuming off what I could
2 using inside out wads of masking tape to get off the stuff the vacuum culdn't
3 using an old pair of electric hair clippers to trim the fuzzy parts and 'pills' off

Always ended up looking MUCH better and in a few cases practically new.

Rat fur IS pretty rough on clipper blades though, so I wouldn't use any you plan to keep using to cut hair...

+2 on the fabric shaver. I use it on my Schroeder. And on my rat hair bass cab too!

SOLVED:

I found some clippers layin around my house and took them to the rat fur and the cab looks brand new!! Thanks guys!

Tip: I found that the slower I went over the cab, the better it worked/looked.
