Hey guys,
Been out of the game for a few months. Mainly playing church stuff/ recording. I'm getting back to the bar/ club scene and need to purchase an amp to go with my Markbass Traveler 2x10. I may add another MB210 to the mix once I've got a solid gig schedule but I want to know if there are any particularly good amps to match with this or any really bad ones to stay away from.
I like a warm, bright, and (relatively) low happy sound. I will be playing R&B/ Neo soul with a Roscoe LG3005.
Considering:
MB LMII
Epifani Ps600
Eden WT405 (loved my eden set up but had to get something smaller)

I owned one for a couple of months, using it with both a GB Shuttle and the LMII. I felt like it had a little bit more upfront grit with the LMII than with the Shuttle, but neither felt full in the bottom end. You can, of course, EQ it to taste, but I found that dialing in some low end with the EQ on the LMII led to a fairly unnatural sounding, boomy bottom end rather than something rich you might see exhibited in using a cab tuned deeper with a larger box.
It was one of the worst cabinets I heard in a solo setting, but it shined brighter in the mix. Still, it left me lacking in band setting with a supportive low end. Still one of my least favourite cabinets to date. But YMMV. |

Any experience with Eden or Epi amps through these?

I use both cabs when I play live with my hard rock cover band (with an insanely loud guitar and drummer) with no PA support. When I play live in my classic rock cover band, I might take both, but for practice (in a 20X20 garage/studio) I just take the 15. If I was doing an acoustic set, or at a small venue like at a coffee shop, I just take the 2X10 and I think with all that flexibility, i have all my bases covered. The tone in all respects suits me, and I am my own harshest critic.
