Both seem like an affordable line of amps. Which do you prefer and do you have first-hand experience with either?

^^Completely biased opinion BTW |

I will tell you now that I have no experience with any Traynor amps, but from my experience with Kustom amps, you're [probably] better off with Traynor. Just "bleh" to Kustom amps.

| | | | I've experienced Traynor all my life! First Traynor then Yorkville then Traynor again! I'd go for Traynor..... I 've been dying to try the new YBA300, but the solid state stuff (with the single 12AX7) like the 400H or 800H is good stuff, check it out!! |

I switched from Genz Benz to Traynor / Yorkville not because I had a restricted budget. I simply liked them the best period.
I have owned the Traynor Dynbass 200T, and thrilled with my sound gigging with either my Yorkville 400H or 800H heads with XC410 cabs.

Might be because the Traynor stuff looks so much better haha
Go Traynor especially if you are canadian. The sound is great, and its good quality.

On the topic I think that The OP is asking about..... I prefer Traynor, as all the Kustom stuff I have ever seen left Me with the impression of un-impressiveness. I know on the "old" Kustom amps the tuck and roll has its appeal, but it runs out of gas when the tone just aint happening. |

| | | | Kustom and Traynor I have a Traynor YBA 1A MKII and use it with a Kustom 2 x 15 w/JBL D 140s.
Built like a tank with massive transformers and a cooling fan for the tubes. Solid and reliable.
I love the Kustom tuck and roll cabinet but would stay away from the heads.
But in my case the Traynor is 16A and the cab is 8. And all my gear gets heavier each year.
Looking to downsize. Neo, for sure - but solid state only if I can get good advice. For now, tubes still rule.

I've never liked the look of the Kustom stuff. Some of it I'm sure was OK but the brand always said cheap to me.

I bought a Traynor DB800H & (2) TC115 cabs to help a friend become a Yorkville/Traynor dealer (I needed another bass rig like I need another hole in my head!).
Never played through one until I received the one I ordered.
I was very pleased, it did take a while to dial in a tone to my liking but once I figured out what knobs to tweak to get what I needed it's been a great rig.
I will also add that the Yorkville/Traynor service dept. is excellent, I have a LOT of Yorkville gear so this is very important to me and I am pleased to say that they have never let me down.
Oh, there stuff is also built like a tank!
