the cab is great.. its only 12" deep so it will fit in the car perfect. should be able to fit it and both guitar cabs in the guitarists stationwagon

+ 1000000

Load a big (and possibly all-tube) rig by yourself enough times and you will learn that the tilt-back wheels are your best friend in many situations. You can take stairs one step at a time with this or tip it up on stage if need be...you gotta heft those single boxes around He-Man style and look like a dork trying to lift em up on stage. Use the leverage of a tall 2x15 or 8x10 to move it up without as much help required. Like Downunder said, people are more likely to feel like jerks not helping you with a big cab than with some singles.

I will probably invest in some skid rails for the back of the cab so i can safely drag it up stairs. It has castors on the bottom of it currently to make things a little easier

well cool.

the ev15L does not have crushing bass response.
It just has a wonderful midrange voice that is win with 2 of them.

personally i would rather have a 2x15
each speaker in its own separate compartment with a dedicated port for each.

the tl 606 cabinet designed by ev is well known for the 15L
it is just a heavy old design and could use a upgrade to the shelf port. for electric bass use attaching the port cover, or what EV calls stepdown mod for the lower tune of 40hz is more ideal.

So a redesign of the tl606 would just include a deeper box with the same airspace, and a shelf port or 4 round ports to be tuned to the lower lower stepdown frequency of 40hz

basically 3.2 cubic feet per woofer and 40hz port frequency.

the mesa boogie 2x15 diesel cab has best dimensions pretty much a copy of the Sunn 200s dimension wise.

from what i gather the original cts speakers in the b25b are only like 50w rated each.. and i do get considerable breakup when i boost the bass on the head or the low eq on my bass.. i have it tuned in pretty good now so that i have great volume without grit.. but might want to get a little more boom out of the cabinet.. i'll know better next time we play out how it sounds.. worse case i will order up some kappa 15s and call it a day.. i hear they sound great and have great power handling

actually the kappa and kappa pro wont do very well below 200hz
and in a sealed box would barely handle 50watts below 200hz.

Even though the thermal rating is high around 450watts that is because of the large voice coils and will only achieve anywhere close to that power handling with a high pass filter at 100 to 200hz as a pa midbass

the delta pro 15a would be a better canidate
and a few others that would survive better in a sealed box.

also adding damping material to that speaker chamber will improve the mid range clarity. just line the walls with blanket batting
