Hi Talkbass.
I have been playing the TC Electronics gear for a year now, using two 210´s, one 212 and recently also two 112¨s, in different configurations. Here's a little presentation of my setup:
My most recent change to the setup was adding one more amplifier. In addition to the RebelHead 450 I initially bought, I added a Classic 450. I use a
Lehle passive splitter and directs my signal from the wireless receiver to the two amps.
- I use one amp for the two 210´s, dialing it with lots of mid-range, quite a lot of TubeTone and just a tad of SpectraComp.
- The second amp I use wit one 212 and the two 112. Thumpy, heavy clean and quite compressed, with just a little tad of TubeTone.
Both tone's are great on their own, but blending the mid-range distorted 10's with the clean deep and tight 12's is THE best thing I ever had on a stage. The EQ on the two amps aren't really that far apart, but the difference in characteristics between 12's and 10's in the TC cabinets make lots of difference.
The picture if from an outdoors gig, on which I didn't use the 212 cabinet. Using the two 112's instead of the 212 uses the 4 ohm rating better than the 8 ohm on a single 212. Not really sure what difference it makes, since the TC amps are really loud no matter how they are used.
Cheers, Henning - Norway
