Bi-Amping an SVT-5 to a Mesa Powerhouse 1000

Hello everyone. So I have asked others and searched the web for my answer to this question, but seem to get different answers each time. So I hope someone on here can help me out with this. I've seen the same question regarding an Svt-4 here on talkbass, but want to be sure I do this right.

I have an Ampeg Svt-5 Pro and a Mesa Powerhouse 1000 cab (4x10 & 1x15). On the back of the cab there appears to be the option for bi-amping the cab so that the lows and highs get split between the 4-10s and the 1-15.

My question is first of all: am I right in thinking this is what it does;
and 2nd of all: what is the best way to go about doing this. I want to do it right so I don't seriously mess something up with either the amp or cab. The back of the SVT seems to have 2 different sections labeled "Bi-amp" One has 2 high/low jacks; and the other is labeled mono-bridge/bi amp.

There is also a button on the back of the amp that says FULLRANGE/BIAMP I couldn't really figure out what the manual was trying to say so I figured better be safe then sorry. If it matters the URL for the manual is www.ampeg.com/manuals/SVT5PRO.pdf/

Thanks all!
