I did another full custom F215 for myself, but I can't post pics as it would violate my CUP...drop me a line and I'd be happy to send you some, unless someone else does it first |

The lightest one we did came out in the 72lb range, one came out about 75lbs and one at 78lbs. The 4th we built isn't populated yet, but I'm guessing it should come in right in the middle. My personal F215 is the heaviest at 78lbs and it feels like nothing for what it does. Kills any 810 I've ever heard and weighs less than most 410's. |

I recently picked up a NOS made in the USA 2006 Ampeg SVT VR (it was sitting unsold for 6 years in Nashville of all places). I immediately bought an Ampeg 410HLF. But that didn't fulfill my big cab jonesing, so I just bought a brand spank me new Ampeg SVT810 AV. This rig sounds so good I really can't believe it. Back in the day I did have a 1973 SVT and 810 cab, but I had forgotten how glorious that rig sounds.
I also have 1969 Ampeg B-15n (for recording) and 2 Ampeg Rocket Bass amps. I mostly play a 1970 P-Bass and I have 2 other P-basses, and 1971 Telecaster bass as well, but playing my Gibson Thunderbird through the 810 cab fulfills many a rock and roll fantasy. Even gigs in smaller rooms, the SVT VR and 810 cab sound great at low and med volumes, but those outdoor gigs it really shines.
.
Both my 4x10 and 8x10 cabs are 4 OHMS. Is there any reason why I couldn't use them together with my SVT VR?
I'll post pic soon. If #777 is available that would be very cool. |
