Bigger cab for Acoustic 260 head?

I have the Acoustic 260 "mini" stack: 100 watt head driving a 1 x10" 4 ohm cab. The single speaker out on the back of the head reads "4 ohm min".

I would like to replace the 1 x10" cab with a 2 x 10". I am assuming that (1) a 4 ohm cab will continue to draw 100w from the head, (2) an 8 ohm cab would cause the watt output to drop by around 1/2, like to 50w and (3) an 8ohm cab would not risk any damage to the head and/or the cab, but it would not be much of an improvement over the existing 1 x 10" 4 ohm (100w) cab.

Are my assumptions correct?

Generally correct, yes. Get more cone area without increasing the impedance if you want more volume.
