Biggest bang for your buck cab

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking into either a 1x15 or 2x10 cab. Very different tonally, I know, but that size is what I'm going for.

What does TB think is the biggest bang for your buck in this size range? I've heard good things about Avatar, but I'd just like to hear some more names.

Thanks,
Luke

what head are you matching it with? there are large variations in price and quality depending on how many watts you need your cab to handle.

If your wanting ported cabinets, Avatar.
If your wanting sealed cabinets, Peavey Headliners.

My gigging cabinets are two Avatar Neo 210 cabinets stacked as a vertical 410.
Love em'!!!

I've heard great things about the Orange OBC115, but it may be out of your budget. Anything avatar is great though, I have a 2X12 and love it.

Used 1x15 w/ KappaLite 3015

Mesa Diesel/Road-Ready 1x15 and Orange 1x15 are VERY similar to the TL606 1x15 (there's a Trace model 1x15 that fits this mix too... can't recall the model #).

Any of these cabs with the Eminence KappaLite 3015 will rock the house! I was quite surprised and pleased when I loaded my TL606 with this driver!!

The 3012HO is also outstanding in my TL806 1x12 cab!! This pair is my new fave "stack," although I don't care for the mixed drivers... Just can't afford to do anything more about that at the moment. But each separately is quite impressive.

Those who can build something ought to check out Bill Fitzmaurice cabs or the fEarful line. Different approaches, but both very productive.

Biggest bang for your buck?

Hartke.

Larry makes some great cabs. I own both an 2x10XL and a 1x15TP. I love them both. They sound great together. Yes I mixed aluminum cones with paper... but it sounds great to me.

They sound great, they are reasonably priced, and hold their value in resale rather well. They are the "Toyota Camery" of bass cabs. They work. They work well. They work forever.

Just my take.

Avatar is a good bet, for sure, but I'd also suggest you try out the GK Neo112-II and/or Neo115.
