Blown out bass amp

I was playing bass at my schools pep rally with the jazz band and I had the amp turned up almost all the way. About halfway through and the amp stopped making sound, and then a high pitched noise came out. I would really like to fix this amp (it's not mine). Can somebody please tell me how?

you will have to take it to a repair tech, no way to tell whats wrong with it from here.

You were trying to get more out of the amp than it could give. You now need to take the amp to a tech.
