Blown speaker in cab...

Have an LDS 4x10, and to my dismay, discovered a blown speaker in it last night. It is an Eminence Legend, cab only 1 1/2 yrs old. Did NOT pump too much wattage through it, other 3 speakers seem OK. Anyone else have any issues with Eminence Legends? I will be contacting Don today for sure...

I was thinking of have Don build me another 4x10 cab to handle louder volumes better, but now, I'm wondering if I should look at something else. Anyone ever play a Mesa Roadhouse 1200 cab (the 4x10 with a 15 in the middle)?

It would be interesting to know more about what happened to your cab. My gut tells me that you experienced a mechanical failure which cannot be determined by examining the electrical properties of the drivers (how many watts it can handle). If you wouldn't mind sharing some specs then someone might be able to offer a "best case" solution that would prevent further driver failure.

What amp are you using?
What (exact model) drivers are in the cab?
What are the internal dimensions of the cab?
What are the dimensions of the ports (if any)?

I'll check on the exact measurements, etc. Not sure the exact model # of the speaker, I'll check that as well. As far as the rig, I am using an Eden Navigator preamp into a Carvin DCM-1500 power amp. The cab is an 8 ohm cab, so I think the Carvin sends 400w into 8ohms...

Anyone have any experience with the Mesa 1200? Or, anyone have an opinion of another 4x10 cab that might mate up nicely with the LDS I have now, besides another LDS?
