| Blown Speakers from a non-functional amp? Greetings all, long time lurker here, this is my first post. I've run into a problem that is just about the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I searched extensively, but I can't find anything on this.
I bought a new (to me) Eden WTB1000 off of ebay last week. It arrived yesterday, and I took special care setting it up correctly, even following the instructions in the manual! I use two GK 410's, one for each channel as I use stereo effects.
When I went to turn it on, nothing happened. Literally NOTHING; no lights, no sound, no fan, no indication that it had powered on at all. I double checked everything: connections, fuse, cables, I even tried the removable power cord on another amp of mine and it fired up no problem. Needless to say, I was extremely dissapointed, so I sent the amp back.
Now here's the kicker:
When I set my old rig back up, (two ampeg SVT-400Ts) the bottom right speaker in each cabinet was blown! I don't know what could have possibly made this happen to both cabs simultaneously as they were perfect before I hooked them to the Eden. Once again, I checked all the connections, even hooked them up to another amp, and they still sounded blown?
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this, or is there something I'm overlooking here? |
