Blue LED fan in 700rbii

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys

i was thinking of a few ways to light up my 700RB-II and the idea of installing an LED fan (used in cusotm computers) came to mind.

Does anyone know the size of the fan or how diffuclt doing this would be?

has anyone done anything like this to their amp?

I thought about doing this to my Tour 700. If you have some electronics experience, go for it! Otherwise, leave it alone...

could you not just put in some leds without replacing the fan?.. seems like it would be easier.

An LED fan would actually be the easier, not to mention safer route as the LEDs within the fan would draw power directly from the fan header on the board. Wiring in separate LEDs would require tapping into a regulated 12v line and isn't worth it when most fans are plug and play, IMO/IME

Any chance an LED fan would introduce any static?

Noise shouldn't be a problem. The fans generally use brushless induction motors and the LED's won't generate noise.

Add a fan with a purpose

- Open case,
- If the spec isn't on the fan then google the part no.
- get numbers on size, voltage, airflow... and try for one with the lowest noise possible.
- find a computer case fan with all of the above and LED bling.

No soldering will be needed it'll be a clip on connection.
