Boomy cabs?

Sign in to disble this ad
I had a GK MB212 combo for about a week. Before that I had Mesa M6 Carbine212 for about a month. Before that I had GK 1001RBll and an SBX plus 410 cab. All had way too much low end for me. Now I see a bunch of other people having similar issues with the GK MBE cabs. My thinking is what would happen if you took a 212 cab and rewired the speakers out of phase to reduce the low end? How would it affect the room? How would it affect the bass coming from the PA? Would it work?

You'd reduce it to zero. Read the threads regarding the lack of damping lining in G-K cabs.

All those amps you were using have eq controls, which, if used properly, can get you anywhere you need to be.
