tuner+meteronome+headphone amp! anyone tried this? does it work well for bass? there are hardly any reviews for it anywhere

I don't know about this particular one, but, at first glance, it looks like a glorified tuner. If you want a more fully functioned headphone amp, I would try the Bass Ace by Dunlop. Been using one now for a few years, plugged into my computer to learn and play along with tunes, works very well.

why not just take the plunge and get a Korg Pandora?

i want to get a headphone amp with a built in metronome at least so that i can practice without much hassle.

go used - check the TB classifieds. pandoras etc show up all the time.
