Bought amp head - Need cab advice

Sign in to disble this ad
Just recently picked up a Divided by 13 TBL200 and now I need a cab to match it. It has 4, 8 and 16 ohm outs.

I'm looking for something 'vintage voiced' to match the head. I am still considering the matching 4x12B cab, but the dimensions are a bit awkward fitting into my car at approx. 30W x 30.5H x 14D in inches (with the depth not being the issue, but 17 or under is best).

Please, no recommendations for an 8x10, 6x10 or similar. I'd like to keep it 80lbs or under for a single cab. Two smaller ones is fine as long as it's not two 4x10s.

As a reference point, I currently own an old Eden D410XLT. Not exactly the greatest match for the head I don't believe. I plan to ditch it.

I play rock/hard rock mainly. I mostly use a pre-EB Stingray and '71 P with an 'A' neck. I sometimes whip out the Modulus VJ. This maybe gives you an idea...maybe...

I have to compete with an 80's Marshall halfstack and Gibson LP Custom. The rig rips your face off with 'chunk'...at least he doesn't dime the thing.

Well, it sounds like you do need a 610 or similar. I'd go with a Berg NV series. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the weight and portability, and nothing else will sound as good.

Congrats on the head. Those look awesome.

Maybe two OBC115? Would there be any downside to just having two 15 inch speakers vs. 4x10 or vs. 2x12 or 4x12?

I hate that Orange doesn't post specs...

if you need to compete w/ a marshall's 12" celestions ,
my suggestion is a 4 x 8" cab (markbass NY ?) along with
an single 15 or 18" cab . smaller speakers will project like crazy
and give great dispersion ,but you'll likely want some
muscle from a large driver to complement .
