Bowie "Sound and Vision" sound

I love the tone of the bass on Bowie's "Sound and Vision" on his album, Low. Anyone know what's behind it?

George Murray. P Bass. He was bassist for most of those albums of the mid 70s like "Station To Station" and "Heroes"
