| | | | Which brand do you play through? I am wondering what are the most popular named brand bass amps players use on this forum. I started out with a Crate amp back in the day, went to a Fender 15" combo, Mesa Boogie 400+ with SWR 410, to a smaller Boogie Buster wedge to finally my resting place: The Augilar Tone Hammer 500 with DB212.
Sorry, forgot to include Ashdown. Please mention your amp if you are on OTHER

EDIT: and an old SWR with scratchy pots..

Here's a picture of the combo I replaced my big rig with. This thing is LOUD, light, and I think I got it for less than $400.00 when they were blowing them out.

Peavey Alpha Bass Tube Pre into a Crown XLS Drivecore 1000. Best sub $350 amp I have ever had. Power for days, two channels, 2 ohms capable, light as a feather, love, love, love it.

| | Registered User Endorsing Artist: Brubaker Guitars | | | | | Tecamp Puma 500. My backups are an old Trace Elliot GPSM 7 300 and an SWR workingman's 4004 (run with BBE Sonic maximize). Sometimes I'll go old school/low tech and run two 4ohm 2x10's one powered by each backup head and both channels of the sonic maximizer and it sounds soooo good to me. Clean, punchy articlulate and some sizzle on top. Sounds really good in a larger bar, with a large dance floor.
