Over the years, I have tried several different Ampeg heads and cabs, Gallien Krueger 400RB, 800RB and 1001RB-II, GK 410RBH, GK 115RBH and Hartke heads and cabs. I always go back to Ampeg. I currently have an American built SVT 6 Pro, early 1970s SVT head, early 1970s 810 cab, two SVT410HE cabs. They are heavy but its worth it for the tone I get.

If I have an opportunity in the future, I would like to own or try a classic SVT all-tube head, an SVT-II Pro Head and the relatively new solid state lightweight SVT7-Pro with their traditional 8x10 sealed refrigerator cabs. |
